Concrete Slab and Wall Cutting in Louisiana
Aggregate Technologies, Inc. (ATI) has once again deployed its advanced equipment and highly skilled technicians to tackle a sophisticated concrete cutting and removal project in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana – located just outside the city of New Orleans.The project calls for removal of 23’ x 35’ concrete segments on both the western (Gretna) and eastern (Belle Chasse) sides of the tunnel. To handle the task, ATI has deployed a cutting-edge Pentruder wall saw with 78” blade to the job site. Removal includes roadway approach slabs as well as vertical tunnel walls and footings. Precision concrete demolition is a necessary prelude to implementation of the new flood protection plan, which is designed to protect parish residents from high water originating in the nearby Algiers Canal. All work will be completed during non-peak hours, in order to minimize disruption of commuter traffic flow. Work is centered on the external sides of the canal and does not require underwater demolition in this case.
