ATI receives prestigious industry awards for safety
Aggregate Technologies, Inc. is committed to worker safety. Concrete cutting and removal can be potentially hazardous, therefore vigilant safety training and procedures are essential. ATI's exceptional dedication has once again been recognized by two leading industry organizations.
Houston-based specialty contractor Aggregate Technologies, Inc. (ATI) recently received two different industry honors: the "STEP Platinum Award" from Associated Building Contractors and the "Safety Excellence Award for Subcontractors" from Associated General Contractors.
The STEP (Safety Training and Evaluation Process) program recognizes contractors for safety performance and training methods. Contractors submit a questionnaire about their safety programs, training efforts, and any accidents. They are then scored and ranked based on the responses. Aggregate Technologies has won the 2011 STEP Platinum Award, the industry's most prestigious honor, which recognizes exemplary safety efforts. It is awarded only to contractors who attained Gold or Platinum level awards the previous year and who meet the highest level of criteria for the current year. This marks the third consecutive year that ATI has received the Platinum award.
"In order to achieve Platinum status a company must demonstrate an extensive safety program along with an exemplary safety record," explained ATI Vice President of Sales Ronnie Wills. "Without our crew of dedicated employees in the field putting safety first at all times, we would not have earned these accolades."
ATI is also a repeat winner of the Associated General Contractors "Safety Excellence Award for Subcontractors" – which is based on a presentation of the safety program and policies submitted by the company's safety director. Documentation from OSHA and accident rate data are also submitted. An expert panel then judges all entries and selects a winner in each category.
"This is the second time Aggregate Technologies has won this prestigious award. Only one award is given in each category and, as always, there is stiff competition," Wills reported. "Congratulations go to all of our crewmembers in the field, who work hard every single day to make such awards possible."
Aggregate Technologies Inc., which specializes in precision concrete cutting services, has not had an OSHA recordable injury or illness in over three years.
